      Claire Lupton

      Counsellor/CBT Therapist

      SouthYorkshireCBT ‘where healing begins’
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) examines the links between thoughts feelings and behaviour and how this can lead to negative patterns that maintain issues such as depression and anxiety disorders. Such disorders can have a devastating effect on your work and social life, the future can seem hopeless as a result.

I hold a LLB (Hons) in law, a BA (Hons) in Community Justice (DIPS) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in CBT. I have worked extensively with individuals of all ages who are experiencing complex psychological problems including mood and anxiety disorders.

Having first hand experience with anxiety and depression, which I now successfully manage, I can effectively identify these conditions and understand how isolating and debilitating they can be. Using proven CBT skills and lessons from my own journey I have instilled hope about recovery and successfully helped others experiencing similar issues.

South Yorkshire CBT can help with the following issues;• Depression• Low self esteem and image disorders• Anxiety• OCD• PTSD• Chronic pain• Sexual dysfunction• Anger management• Domestic abuse.

In addition to working as a Psychotherapist, I have been employed in the public sector as a Probation Officer for the past 17 years. Within this role I delivered CBT based interventions to service users; the aim being to reduce the risk of causing serious harm to others and minimise the significant ripple effect that results from such behaviours.

Unfortunately, evidence based interventions are mainly available post criminal conviction. There is little support for those who recognise the potential for harmful behaviour before it occurs. South Yorkshire CBT is unique as it can offer evidence based interventions by  trained professionals with expertise in helping others manage violent and abusive behaviours, helping you and your loved ones lead a safer life.
